How many times have you entertained this question?
I would often find myself trying to answer this question all through out high school, college and after.
I thought to myself and I would ask myself “ does he love me?”. Then I would add “ really love me”, “does he really REALLY love me?”
Sis, sip on this...
Why are you really questioning his love?
Often we base our questions regarding the way someone treats us, the way they prioritize us, the way they speak to us and the way they treat those around them. I believe, the question arises and starts tugging at our spirit because we already know the answer.
Unfortunately, we begin answering YES, he loves me because….he sent me flowers, he said he was sorry, he said he would change or because he is now shedding tears for me. We start believing - he DOES love me. Is this love?
Sis, instead of asking does he love me? Ask this:
Is he patient with me?
Is he kind to me?
Is he jealous?
Does he boast?
Is he rude?
Is he demanding?
Does he keep score?
The honest answers you give to these questions, will lead you to your answer when you compare them to God’s truth. There is someone who checks all the boxes. He loves you and his name is JESUS. And YES, He really DOES loves you.
"Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged."
1 Corinthians 13:4 NLT
